Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident from the moment she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came 2nd in the 200 meter event at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished her high school year in 2003 and signed with Adidas an agreement as an athlete in professional competition. Following that, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic medal at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.18. She became the youngest world champion in the 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and was consistently among the top three athletes at her particular events.
