Zachary Knight Galifianakis (Greek pronunciation January 1, 1969) was a famous American comedian, actor, musician, writer, and comedian. He was a comic, actor, and presenter of Late World with Zach (VH1) Galifianakis was in several films such as The Hangover trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010) and The Campaign (2012). He was also in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) and Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis also voiced characters for animated films like Puss in Boots (2011). The Lego Batman Movie (2017). Missing Link (2019). Ron's Gone The Wrong Way (2021). Galifianakis is currently host of the Funny or Die talk show Between Two Ferns, with Zach Galifianakis. Galifianakis appeared in the FX series Baskets. He was nominated in 2017 for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis, a North Carolina native, was born on October 1 1969 in Wilkesboro. The actor is the child of Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and Harry Galifianakis, a heating oil seller. His mother is English-Irish and Scottish, while his paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized in the father's Greek Orthodox faith. He is the father of Merritt his younger sister as well as Greg, his older brother. The cousin of his Nick Galifianakis (Washington Post cartoonist) is his uncle. Galifianakis was a student at Wilkes Central High School, and later attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a degree in communications. Galifianakis joined Saturday Night Live two weeks after his TV debut with Boston Common.
